Thirds win
BROMYARD III v
EASTNOR III.
EASTNOR thirds started their league campaign with a fine eight wicket win away to Bromyard thirds. Batting first, the home side struggled against fine bowling from Peter and Tom Powell, who gave away just 16 runs from the first 12 overs before Elliot Parsons trapped Godsall lbw with his first ball.
He claimed two more wickets in four balls. Jeff Bayliss batted on well for his half century and Clegg 19 and Bagley 26, the total moved slowly on, Parsons finishing with 3-13. John Taylor 4-22 and Nick Haggar 3-25 polished off the tail leaving the visitors 128 to win.
The villagers were soon on 20 after four overs, albeit only one run from the bat. Ken Madders 21, and Rav Moodley 10, took the total on nicely before Moodley was out lbw.
Sam Beale then took centre stage hitting four 6s and four 4s in his unbeaten 56, skipper Haggar also remaining not out on 21.
