Clean streets bring sparkle to town
MALVERN Hills district has the third-cleanest streets in the West Midlands, says a survey released this week.
The report from the Audit Commission says the streets in the district were assessed at 97.7 per cent clean, with only Oswestry and Stratford-on-Avon having cleaner streets.
The dirtiest of the 34 authorities in the region were Birmingham and Coventry.

Indeed, Malvern link looks like a London suburb full of crisp packets, needles and used Durex but I must admit that there is non of that white dog shxx around any more.
Actually, not since the 70's. Does anyone know why? Are dogs on a new diet??

Apparently dog food used to contain a lot of bone meal which made it white.

What about all the rubbish left in the streets close to Dyson Perrins School
Yates Hay Road in particular
There are many litter bins supplied by the Town Council but this is one of the worst littered areas I have seen anywhere

I would prefer that they started putting the bone meal in the dog food again, so as to easily spot one of these smelly turds. It would certainly help to prevent one stepping on one of these steaming logs.
As a matter of fact my stools once went white when I had a period of Hepatitus. It wasn't comfortable and my urine became a dark brownish colour. However, you will be relieved to know I never left any of these deposits on the pavement of Malvern Link.

I have a story about one of my old pals, who shall remain nameless but is dead now so I can recall the story without recrimination.
He was caught short Just on a late night trip back from Worcester in late 1966. Although a man of fine standing and sound morals, he could wait no longer for his homely convenience and so planted one and watered it just outside Frank Goodacres old electric shop in Malvern link, (opposite the curry house, It was empty last time I looked) It was bad timing because a Policeman on foot (those were the days) caught him just after he had finished and made him pick it up and take it home, overwise he would have to be charged. To make things worse old Mike had just come back from a fancy dress party and was dress like Robin hood. The only thing he could use was his hat, and so he did. That brought a whole new meaning to "keep it under your hat."

What a fascinating and wonderful story Chocolate Starfish Also a great insight to 60's Malvern. I wonder if any other citizens of Malvern can share their old stories of defication on our towns pavements.

It fills my heart with joy to hear the streets of Malvern are so clean. I moved away quite a while ago, so I haven't had the experience of seeing it for myself.It has been many years since I have slipped on doggy stuff whilst walking on the pavements of Malvern.I really think some dog owners should spent time behind bars for letting their pooch fowl public places a fine is just not good enough! Harking back to the white 70's style dog poo, maybe they should put something luminous in their food so if they do fowl the pavements at least we would be able to see it at night.Well hopefully I will see these clean streets for myself sometime soon. Helen B
