CLARE Boorman is expecting inquisitive glances when she heads out and about around Malvern in her pyjamas next Friday (April 4).

While there are days when we would all prefer not to get changed out of our nightclothes, Clare will be making her unique fashion statement to raise money for the St Richard's Hospice, which is once again holding its annual PJ Day.

Clare is taking part in the event for the third year running, and this time will be joined by a visiting friend for an afternoon walk in Priory Park and a quick drink at Malvern Theatres, followed by Pyjama Party with friends in the evening.

In previous years she has done the shopping, and even been to the gym in her pyjamas.

"Most people give me a strange look, but I normally wear a poster advertising the event as part of my outfit so they know what I am doing," she said. "I support various worthy causes, but I think the was that St Richard's does its fundraising particularly appeals to me."

Others across the county are expected to take part in PJ Day, and St Richard's is hoping to add a substantial amount to the £16,000 that the event has raised towards its work to date.

St Richard's community fundraiser Alison Weston said: "We are delighted Clare is supporting PJ Day again, it's good fun and a simple way to raise much needed funds."
