Girl power nets victory
A NEWLY-ASSEMBLED women's football team are celebrating after being crowned champions.
The Chase's first ever Futsal team to participate in the Worcestershire league scooped top spot in the division after a fine run of displays.
They narrowly missed out on reaching the national finals in Sheffield after losing a play-off against Worcester City 5-0.
Top goal scorer and player of the tournament, PE teacher Laura Price continued to impress at the other end of the pitch scoring 17 goals in 5 games. On their road to the final, the Chase drew with Ferndale Ladies 2-2, beat Worcester City 6-3, VPL FC 10-1 and Worcester University 5-3.
Futsal is an indoor version of football which is a popular sport in both Portugal and Spain.
The game requires players to play with a smaller ball with less bounce than a football with the emphasis on improvisation and creativity.
