Decision on homes deferred

A DECISION about whether three detached houses with 10 underground parking spaces can be built behind homes in Malvern has been deferred.

Councillors say they want more information about drainage and highways issues.

Members of Malvern Hills District Council's southern area development control committee agreed they needed more details of the drainage proposals and about highways matters relating to the scheme at the rear of the houses at 98, 98A and 100 Cowleigh Road.

Plans for the new homes were refused by the district council in 2005 and again at appeal in October of the same year.

Another set of plans has now been submitted which planning officers say address the reasons for refusals and were recommended for approval.

However, there have been more than 30 objections from neighbours.

The scheme will go back to the southern are development control committee for consideration once the relevant information has been received.
